Pick a Side!

Exo 32:26 So Moses stood at the gate of the camp and shouted, “Everyone who is on the LORD’s side come over here!”

Many of us are watching the news each day, trying to keep up with the many, many changes that are taking place. This one is leaving, that one is coming, this new policy, that new executive order. It can all be mind blowing if you let it. But we must keep one thing in mind in the midst of all the chaos, “Which side are you on?”

Whether you agree with all that President Trump is doing or not, we must stand as one nation united under God, or our enemies will come in and destroy us. Time and time again in the Old Testament, when the children of Israel would lose their focus on the things that matter, their enemies from all around would come and destroy them, take them captive, or lead them into bondage. There is a price for not showing a united front, all under the only True God.

In the news today, we heard of the Attorney General deciding she was not on our side. Whether you agree with him or not, you are put there to do a job. If you are not going to do that job, YOU GOTTA GO! You’re Fired!

I love that we now have a president who is not afraid to step up, clean out, and do what needs to be done. He is like the Tasmanian Devil, plowing through this country, righting every wrong that has been left undone for the past 8 years. One thing you can definitely say is he is keeping his campaign promises. He is not wasting time. He does not care who he offends. He is there to do a job, and he is going to do it.

What about you? Where do you stand? Just like President Trump, weeding out all the impostors around him, our God has promised there will come a day, when he will separate the wheat from the chaff. How is your heart today? Jesus tells us that all will know that we are His disciples by one thing. It isn’t the license plate on our car, or the pretty bible case we carry to church. He is looking for love. As He has loved us, we are to love others.

Ouch! That kind of smarts doesn’t it? We can get so caught up on social media that we are slinging words with the best of them. But when we do that, can they feel our love? When we pick fights and provoke and taunt, do people see us and say, “that must be one of His!”

We need to pray for President Trump and this nation. We must stand in love, pray in love, and continue to support him and trust his decisions. Let us be Christians first; American citizens in love with a Savior second!

The Living Temple

In John, there is a section where Jesus meets with the woman at the well. He sits down at the well as His disciples are in search of food, and a woman comes. She is a Samaritan woman, and He is a Jew, meaning they shouldn’t have spoken according to the laws of etiquette for those days.

He is hot and thirsty, and also sees this as an amazing ministry opportunity. He was always in search of the lost soul. He was concerned about the one, the lost, the broken.

Joh 4:6-7
(6) Jacob’s well was there; so Jesus, wearied as he was from his journey, was sitting beside the well. It was about the sixth hour.
(7) A woman from Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.”

So He asks her for a drink. This gets her attention from the get go, because a Jewish man would normally have nothing to do with her. It opens the door to a very anointed conversation. A one on one evangelism experience with Jesus Christ Himself!

Joh 4:9  The Samaritan woman said to him, “How is it that you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a woman of Samaria?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)

While studying this, I began to think about the temple. Up until this time, a person had to bring very preordained sacrifices for their sins, and confess to the Priest, and most important, come to THE TEMPLE.

But now, here was this man offering to give her water for her eternal soul, and she could accept it right here beside the well. She didn’t have to fight the crowds at the temple, and risk being ridiculed and laughed at. Why? What changed?

Joh 4:10-14
(10) Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.”
(11) The woman said to him, “Sir, you have nothing to draw water with, and the well is deep. Where do you get that living water?
(12) Are you greater than our father Jacob? He gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did his sons and his livestock.”
(13) Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again,
(14) but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

The answer is right in the middle of the passage.

Joh 4:20-24
(20) Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you say that in Jerusalem is the place where people ought to worship.”
(21) Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father.
(22) You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews.
(23) But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.
(24) God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Our fathers worshiped on the mountain. Here she is talking about their ancestors worshiping in the Tabernacle, a tent, which was on the Mountain.

You (Jews) say that Jerusalem in the place to worship. Jerusalem was the sight of the Temple.

But now, the Father is looking for True Worshipers!

Joh 4:23  But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.

Jesus is that 3rd Temple. He brought down the system of sacrifices and offerings by being the sacrifice Himself. He is now able to bring salvation to where you are.

There is no reason to neglect so great a salvation! He has paid the price in His body.

Put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ today, and be saved. Walk in the spirit, be led by the spirit. For the time grows short.
